This course is ideal for people new to film-making or those who may have gained a little experience in the past and would like to build on that. During the course you will be introduced to the basics in, Directing, writing, film-studies, story-boarding, lighting camera and sound. We also look at the world of post-production taking in editing and sound design. The course in very practical and culminates with you making your very own short movie scene! At the end of the course you will receive a certificate of completion and a DVD of your work coupled with a 'Special Thanks' IMDB credit for the feature film 'Full Circle' and an invite to the cast and crew screening later this year.

This course is ideal for people new to film making or those with a little experience and would like to learn more. We limit our group numbers to a maximum of 10 participants, this insures that everyone has to a chance work in the various roles of production in film-making. During the course the participants will be introduced to the following:

  • Directing
  • Production
  • Film studies and appreciation.
  • Short Scriptwriting and Development
  • Story-boarding.
  • Camera and Lighting
  • Editing.
  • Sound.
  • 1-Day shoot.

During this time, not only will you learn of the different elements of film making, but you will also take part in producing your very own short piece as well. During production of these pieces you will have an opportunity to work in different roles of production including direction, camera, sound and even some acting. Days 1 and 2 are classes held in the Lab in Foley Street, with day 3 being a location shoot for production of your scene. At the end of the course you will receive a certificate of completion and a DVD of  your work.
